Hey guys - love the show, but was catching up on old episodes (3 Second Mercedes Ruehl, to be exact), and I have to make a correction: You said Cher was way ahead of the curve with "Believe," but the Basement Jaxx did a track with modified vocals in that exact style before Cher - it just stayed hidden on vinyl for a long time. It's called "Rendez-Vu" and although the album came out in 99 (http://www.discogs.com/Basement-Jaxx-Remedy/master/31132), they were using vocoders way before her.
